Global Capacity Lab was commissioned to conduct an institutional capacity and data readiness assessment for a development-focused organisation seeking to strengthen its use of information for planning, monitoring, and performance management. The research examined existing data practices, staff capabilities, information flows, reporting processes, and decision-making requirements. GCL combined document review, stakeholder consultations, and structured diagnostic analysis to identify operational strengths, capacity gaps, and priority areas for improvement. The resulting recommendations were designed to support a practical improvement roadmap covering data governance, staff development, reporting quality, analytical capability, and the integration of evidence into management decisions. The project illustrates GCL’s ability to deliver commissioned research that connects organisational diagnosis with realistic institutional strengthening measures.
Global Capacity Lab designed and facilitated a strategic research lab for Allsphera to explore organisational learning, innovation priorities, and the systems required to convert insight into measurable action. The lab was structured as an interactive process involving evidence review, guided dialogue, problem definition, and prioritisation. The engagement examined the relationship between strategy, people, processes, and data. Participants worked through current challenges and emerging opportunities, then developed a practical set of priorities to support stronger coordination, more informed decision-making, and continuous organisational improvement. The Allsphera Strategic Learning & Innovation Research Lab reflects GCL’s commitment to research that is useful, participatory, and connected to implementation. Its emphasis was not only on understanding organisational needs, but also on creating a clear pathway from findings to action.
Global Capacity Lab delivered a research and design lab to support the development of a stronger monitoring, evaluation, and learning system for a social-impact programme. The initiative focused on clarifying intended results, strengthening indicators, improving data collection practices, and creating more useful learning cycles. Working with programme stakeholders, GCL facilitated the review of the programme logic and the identification of information needs at operational, management, and strategic levels. The lab approach enabled participants to connect everyday implementation activities with outcomes, evidence requirements, and learning questions. The engagement produced a practical foundation for a more coherent MEL system, including recommendations on roles, data flows, reporting routines, reflection processes, and the use of findings for adaptive management. This project demonstrates GCL’s capacity to combine research, facilitation, and systems design in support of stronger programme performance.
Global Capacity Lab conducted a collaborative research lab for Majihill focused on organisational capacity, evidence use, and practical decision-making. The initiative brought together key stakeholders to examine how information is generated, shared, and applied across programmes and operations. Through facilitated inquiry, stakeholder discussions, and structured analysis, the lab identified priority capacity needs and opportunities to strengthen internal learning systems. The work translated those findings into practical recommendations for improving knowledge management, reporting, collaboration, and the use of evidence in organisational planning. The Majihill Research Lab demonstrates GCL’s approach to combining applied research with participatory learning. Rather than producing a purely theoretical report, the initiative created a shared space for reflection, diagnosis, and action-oriented capacity building.
